Dennis Chin is our litigation counsel with an emphasis on commercial litigation, business tort, real estate, and employment law. He represents parties in all phases of litigation including discovery, law and motion, deposition, arbitration, mediation, negotiation and settlement, and trial. Having practiced both business and family law prior to joining our firm, Dennis maintains his client-oriented services with zealous advocacy, attention to details and delivery on promises.
Mr. Chin earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California at Berkeley. He obtained a Doctor of Jurisprudence from University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law, and a Masters of Law from Santa Clara University School of Law. He was a law clerk at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of California. Additionally, he was a judicial extern for California Supreme Court Justice Ming W. Chin, and a law clerk for Judge Phyllis J. Hamilton of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
Mr. Chin has served as an Adjunct Professor at California State University East Bay’s Paralegal Studies Program. There he taught Personal Injury and Tort Litigation, Legal Ethics, and Introduction to Law. He also has taught mandatory continuing legal education to attorneys and paralegals.
Mr. Chin has served on the San Leandro Human Services Commission and the Alameda County Parks, Recreation, and Historical Commission. He was elected to the San Leandro Unified School District Board of Education. He is a two-time recipient of the State Bar’s Wiley W. Manuel Award. In 2006, he was the recipient of the Alameda County Bar Association’s VLSC Volunteer of the Year for his work at the Low-Income Landlord Eviction Clinic, Family Law Day of Court Clinic, and Immigration Clinic. In 2009, the Alameda County Bar Association awarded him the Barristers Distinguished Service Award. He has served on the Alameda County Bar Association, and the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Silicon Valley Board of Directors.
